DYNAMIC SEARCH SUITE

Type: Product

Primary Key: Product
This server behavior allows you to construct a search query across multiple database fields using multiple words from a search box. - works for "any", "all", "exact"

HORIZONTAL LOOPER REPEAT REGION

Type: Code

Primary Key: Code
The Horizontal Looper is so-called because it repeats your data from your database horizontally as well as vertically. It acts in a similar fashion to the standard Repeat Region that is supplied with Dreamweaver, but instead of "number of records" you are prompted for Rows and Columns.

The server behavior works well with Dreamweaver, because it does not use "echo" or "print" statements to build a table around your data. The table that is created can be edited in the Dreamweaver environment, allowing you to define styles or apply properties to your table cells. Also, it was designed to work in tandem with the standard Dreamweaver recordset paging behaviors.

LEARNER CENTRIC LEARNING

Type: Article

Primary Key: Article
The purpose of this paper is to address the concept of developing learner-centric instructional content. Methods for supporting individualized learning will also be addressed. This paper will discuss new ways in which learner-centric content is designed, developed, accessed, identified, customized, shared, localized, stored, and "chunked" into small units, all of which reflect a major shift in the training industry. This paper will also discuss ways in which existing content can be re-purposed for this new concept.

As customer needs grow and demand for an enterprise-scale high-performance database increases, customers sometimes move from the file-server environment of the Microsoft Access Jet engine to the client/server environment of Microsoft SQL Server. The Access Upsizing Wizard, available with Microsoft Office , moves Access tables and queries into SQL Server . If you are working with an earlier version of Access, you can migrate your applications to SQL Server by upgrading to Access , and then using the Upsizing Wizard.

If you prefer not to use Access and the Upsizing Wizard to migrate, use this chapter as a guide for moving an Access application to SQL Server. Moving an Access application requires moving the data into SQL Server and then migrating the Access queries into the database or into SQL files for execution at a later time. The final step involves migrating the applications.

RECORDSET NAVIGATION SUITE

Type: Product

Primary Key: Product
This set of extensions is designed to work alongside the standard UltraDev and Dreamweaver MX server behaviors using the same code base that is part of the core code. The server behaviors work on pages that have recordsets and repeat regions showing a specific number of records per page. This tutorial assumes you know how to apply recordsets, repeat regions, and Move To (recordset paging) navigation behaviors such as the Recordset Navigation Bar live object.

Pages List: List of links like - | - | - | - | -
Navigation Links: List of links like First | Previous | Next | Last

Next X Pages: Used in conjunction with Links List Limited or Pages List Limited. Allows the user to skip ahead a specified number of pages.
Current Page Variable: Shows the current page of the repeat region.
Total Pages Variable: Similar to the rs_total variable, only this one shows how many total pages (instead of total records) in the repeat region.
Jump to Page: Allows the user to input a number to jump to a specific page of records.

SIMULATED NESTED REPEAT REGION

Type: Product

Primary Key: Product
Nested repeat regions are commonly needed in a Web page that serves dynamic content from a database. There are many ways to program a nested region, from nesting loops to data shaping using ADO. All of them require some pretty complex hand-coding. There is an easier way, however. This server behavior takes advantage of some simple conditional logic to simulate a nested repeat region.

SORT REPEAT REGION

Type: Product

Primary Key: Product
As with my other server behaviors, the Sort Repeat Region server behavior is designed to work hand-in-hand with existing Dreamweaver server behaviors, like the Recordset and the Repeat Region. This server behavior will enhance the core set of Dreamweaver MX server behaviors by adding a Sort function to arsenal. The server behavior assumes you are using standard UltraDev or Dreamweaver MX recordsets and repeat regions.

When you apply a repeat region to a table row, there is no easy way to sort the results according to the column heading. This server behavior can be applied to a table that has a repeat region on it. The server behavior will automatically create all the code necessary to have clickable links in place of the column headings that will order the recordset by that column. Another click will order in descending order.
