PERFORMANCE CONFERENCE UPDATE
On Monday, 11/26 we had our first full meeting of the organizing sub-committees. Jodi Lenkaitis, Steve Weech, Laurie Gungel, Tim Sievers, Liz Gullet and Ron Schwarz are some of the most effective and enthusiastic people that I've ever had the privilege of working with. They've committed to a lot of time and effort to create something that's never been done before, but they can't do it alone.

To see who's in charge of what, see http://www.managersforum.com/astd/performanceconference/functions.htm

WHAT IS THE PERFORMANCE CONFERENCE?
On 3/20/02 at NILS (E. State and Alpine), Rock Valley ASTD is the lead sponsor for a 3 track, multi-session (12 - 2 hour sessions maximum), single day event. NILS has recently renovated their location and we'll have access to computer labs that have T1 access to the Internet, plus flexible space options for the presentations, speaker support and display areas. Our goal is to help business leaders understand organizational topics that they may not have the resources to investigate on their own.

The session topics will focus on subjects that support people and processes with interactive, experience based presentations. It will be extended by a post-conference, email based discussion forum and each attendee will receive a CD with session handouts and sponsor information. Our target audience is business professionals, management/executive level, from all business sizes.

The attendance fees will be $149.00, $115.00 up to the Early Bird deadline. $99.00 for our Chapter members, sponsor organization members (profit and non-profit), speakers and their clients, 2 or more attendees that register at the same time.

We've begun to invite other associations and sponsors to help us market and support this event but we'd like to give preference to our Chapter members first so here's a few ideas on how you can help us and we can help you. Every one of us has had experiences with methods and approaches that help to increase the effectiveness of people and processes, it's what we do.

Think about your experiences with CRM, SFA, ERP, eLearning, becoming an employer of choice, knowledge management, rich media for communications and/or learning support, 360' assessments, organizational change, management, employee motivation, employee and client retention, supporting channel and distribution partners, proving strategic organizational value, managing remote/global teams, intrapreneurship, learning on demand and more.

This is your opportunity to share your experiences and consider leading a presentation about what you've experienced - good and bad. All presenters will receive a free display area and other benefits, for more information contact Christie Mason cmason@managersforum.com . Submission deadline is 1/7/02 but don't delay we're already starting to receive submissions from other resources. Not comfortable with leading a session? No problem, we need help staffing the event day, marketing, contacting sponsors/vendors, completing the mailings, distributing information and more.

We've also created an opportunity for you to present your services or products to a business audience. For only $49.00 you can purchase display space at the conference. It's a first come, first served basis and you're hearing it first so don't delay and contact Jodi Lenkaitis jlenkaitis@sauer-danfoss.com to reserve your space.

Or, consider becoming a sponsor or having your organization become a sponsor. Sponsors will receive acknowledgement in our marketing materials, discounted attendance fees, free display space and are invited to add their marketing materials to our attendee packet. For more information - contact Jodi Lenkaitis jlenkaitis@sauer-danfoss.com . Want one more reason to participate? Our proceeds from this Conference will fund our scholarships this year.

The more you can do to help, the more we can help others. We're doing our best to create an event that you'll be proud to present to your organizations and/or clients - the more you participate, the better the overall event. Now it's up to you. Questions? Suggestions? Ideas? I'd love to hear them. Simply contact me, Christie Mason cmason@managersforum.com.
