Developing
Effective Learning Processes
Discussion
Facilitator: Christie Mason, Managers
Forum
Why does survey after survey show that over 70% of learning takes place
outside of our formal training programs? What can we do to increase
the effectiveness of our training efforts?
Defining, designing and refining an effective learning process is more
than simply applying a static ISD (Instructional Design) method. How
do you understand the needs of your intended audience? How do you choose
the right tools from a confusing array of options - coaching, EPSS,
group training, internet/e/web based training, peer-to-peer, video conferencing,
etc? How do you gather and evaluate the results of your efforts?
Bring your questions, challenges and success stories to this discussion
and we'll help you explore some approaches that will work for you in
your environment.
Time:
7:30am - 9:00am

The
Other Side of Change
Presenter/Facilitator Rick Davis, Manager, Ingersoll Cutting Tool
Organizational
change drives many of our training efforts. We are either attempting to
change behaviors or reacting to structural and cultural changes.
This is your opportunity
to get an insider's view of our efforts. Rick Davis has experienced many
personal and professional changes - teams, cultural, reorganizations,
career promotions. What are the attitudes and behaviors has he found useful?
What approaches has he found effective or ineffective? What recommendations
does he have that can help us improve on what we do and how we do it?
Join us for an
insiders view of organizational change. You may be surprised at what it's
like "on the other side."

The
Challenge of Transferring Management Training into Action
Terry White,
Management Institute - Rock Valley College
Management training is a subject that has occupied a significant
place in business literature over the past 25 years. While much is
written and seminars on management development are commonplace today,
the challenge of improving actual management performance through management
education remains difficult. Clear evidence relative to "best
practice" remains elusive.
However, some of our clients report approaches which appear to demonstrate
an improved level of performance improvement with some of their managers.
I will discuss some of our findings as well as some other approaches
that we are currently implementing.

Celebrating
Your Achievements
Discussion
Forum
Think about the past 12 months, or 3 months or however far back
you can remember. What accomplishments have you achieved? What battles
have you fought and won? What did you do that was under-appreciated
by highly effective? What risks did you take and what did you learn?
Too many times, we get caught up in our every growing "To-Do"
lists and we forget to stop and savor our achievements. This meeting
will be discussion groups where we can learn from each other what
methods we've tried that worked - what we've learned from what didn't
work the way we planned.
It's very easy to forget what you've accomplished, so start thinking
now and bring your list of achievements to this discussion.
Time:
12:00pm - 1:30pm
Location: Sundstrand
Food: PICNIC
